Create the workflow and add a Webhook node

Create a new workflow, then add a Webhook node. Set the method to POST and give the path a name you will recognise.

  • Account

    Free plans work. You need to be able to create an integration, which requires workspace owner rights.

  • API key

    Create one at notion.so/my-integrations, then copy the secret. It starts with 'secret_' or 'ntn_'.

    At minimum: Name (title), Email (email), Message (text), Source (text). Then share the page with your integration from the ⋯ menu.

  • Have ready

    Most site builders and form tools support a custom webhook action. If yours cannot, n8n's own Form Trigger is a drop-in replacement.

  • Time

    Connecting the Notion integration to the database page is the step people miss most often — budget a minute for it.

The basics — ticked once, remembered everywhere

  • Account

    Either the hosted version or a self-hosted install. Everything here works the same on both — the only visible difference is the shape of your webhook URLs.

    Adding a node, connecting two of them, and pressing Execute. If any of that is new, the free primer covers it in about ten minutes.

  • Credential

    You will paste at least one secret during setup. A password manager beats a notes app, and it stops you pasting a live key into a chat window by accident.

Skip the node hunting
