Agentic file work runs through the Claude desktop app on paid plans. Check your plan includes the desktop agent (Cowork) features.

Download it from claude.ai/download for Mac or Windows. Browser Claude can't touch your local files; the desktop app can, with your permission.
- Have ready
Downloads, Desktop, or a project folder that's grown feral. Start with something non-critical while you build trust in the workflow.
- Permission
Make sure the target folder is backed up (Time Machine, OneDrive version history, or a quick copy) before any bulk reorganisation.
The basics — ticked once, remembered everywhere

Either the hosted version or a self-hosted install. Everything here works the same on both — the only visible difference is the shape of your webhook URLs.
Create a workspace - Know-how
Adding a node, connecting two of them, and pressing Execute. If any of that is new, the free primer covers it in about ten minutes.
